Shieldz FAQ — non-custodial crypto payments, $0 fees

FAQ

How Shieldz works, how it stays free, and what happens to your money. Short version: payments go straight from your buyer's wallet to yours — we watch the chain and tell you it landed; we never hold it.

How does Shieldz work — is it really non-custodial?

Yes. Payments go buyer's wallet → your wallet, directly. You give Shieldz a receive address (or an extended public key); Shieldz derives payment addresses that belong to you, watches the chain for incoming funds, and notifies you. Shieldz never holds, controls, or can redirect your money — there's no balance to skim, delay, or freeze. With a single address, every invoice settles to the exact address you set, which is shown on the checkout so you and your buyer can verify it.

If it's 0% fees, how does Shieldz make money?

We never take a cut of your payments — you keep 100%. Free accounts show one brief sponsored card on the checkout's “payment confirmed” screen while funds settle; that covers our server and node costs. Prefer a clean, unbranded checkout? Pro is $99/year and turns ads off. Either way you only pay the network's gas fee.

Can Shieldz swap or change my payout address?

No. Funds settle to the wallet you control; Shieldz only watches the chain and notifies you. The receiving address is derived from the key or address you provide and is displayed on the checkout, so a swapped address would be visible.

Do I need to KYC? Do you log my data?

No KYC to start — you're responsible for your own compliance. Shieldz is privacy-first: buyers don't need an account, and shielded Zcash is supported for fully private receipts.

What can my buyers pay with?

USDC and USDT on Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and Ethereum, plus native Bitcoin and shielded Zcash. With swap-settle enabled, a buyer can pay in many coins and Shieldz swaps it to the single token you chose to receive.

What about chargebacks and frozen accounts?

Neither exists here. A confirmed crypto payment is final, and because no account holds your funds, there is nothing to freeze.
